Designed for systems that already have a favourite DAC, the Shanling SMT1.3 is a transport‑only streamer that removes the internal DAC/headphone stage found in the SM1.3 to deliver an ultra‑clean, low‑noise digital signal. A customized, locked‑down Android 12 interface (controlled from the 4.96″ 1080p touch screen or the Eddict Controller app) runs on a 64‑bit ARM Cortex/Rockchip platform with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage, expandable via internal M.2 SSD (up to 2 TB).

A linear toroidal transformer power supply and careful isolation feed the digital section for reduced interference. The FPGA‑driven, pin‑configurable I²S output maximizes compatibility with external DACs, while XMOS‑based USB audio, AES/EBU, BNC, coaxial and optical S/PDIF provide flexible hookup options. High‑resolution support reaches PCM 32‑bit/768 kHz and DSD512 over USB/I²S; S/PDIF outputs handle up to 192 kHz PCM and DoP64. MQA decoding/rendering is supported (USB decoder / other outputs full render). Dual‑band Wi‑Fi 6, Gigabit network integration (DLNA, NAS, Samba, AirPlay 2) and major streaming services round out a transport engineered for longevity.
